Join Millions of Us for a Second Life ribbon cutting for Virtual Palomar West: Hospital of the Future, a previsualization of Palomar West: Hospital of the Future. The virtual hospital – a simulation of a real world hospital campus due to open in 2011 in Southern California - gives visitors the opportunity to tour the facilities years before its doors actually open. How is it possible that a hospital of the FUTURE can look as dreadful, mundane and depressing as a hospital of today? And in a virtual world where EXPRESSION (of our aspirations, function, emotion…) can be completely independent of a world’s physical and functional constraints. I sincerely hope that your client is happy with this masterpiece, but you do not take into consideration the users of the world onto whom you are subjecting this ugly, boring crap. Even in virtual worlds, it’s easy to spot the corporate hack. Congratulations.
